Norwich gaming event

The forum will be hosting a FREE retro gaming event in The Fusion room from the 4th of April right through to the 23rd of April.

The event will host your favourite retro games from your childhood including some fantastic consoles such as the SNES and Megadrive but also so many many more! There will be games for all to enjoy and information on consoles through the generations.

We have set up an Official Retro Arcade 2 Forumhttp://www.norwichretrogaming.co.uk/forum/viewforum.php?f=15. This is a place for everyone to discuss the event, things that they would like to see there and anything and everything else Retro Arcade 2 related.

As a sponsor of the event Norwich Retro Gaming will be holding a special competition for the event, but more information on that will come clear closer to the time! Of course, we will be making more information available as the date gets closer and reporting on the event through it too. So, check out the forum and the forum’s official web page on it too!http://www.theforumnorwich.co.uk/events/view/retro-arcade-2-megablast

Pure Machine code

Another Monthly one.
Ill try to get to it this time

Pure Machine Code retro games jamboree, at the Star & Garter in Manchester, will be having a PlayStation Worms tournament on Thursday 31st March 2011.

Entry is free to retro games fans, though right of admission is reserved (ROAR), and there are some decent prizes up for grabs, including a Sega Megadrive Nano for the winner, and runner-up prizes.

We're setting up the game to encourage attacking play, and the full rules are listed here on our website (check the screenshots to see the game settings and prizes).

If you want to take part: come down on the night and put your name on my list. Try to arrive before 9.30pm if you want to take part.

Of course there will also be the usual mix of consoles and games available to play, as well as the tourny, so there will still be plenty of choice for those not wanting to play Worms :D

Event page on Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/#!/event.php?eid=154673154590796

The Star & Garter is next door to Piccadilly Train Station in Manchester city centre. It also has its own car park, should you wish to drive. Further details about the venue and travel directions here: http://www.starandgarter.co.uk/

Looking forward to it - hopefully see you there!

South Coast Slam on February 5th & 6th 2011

Like Pinball?
Live down south?
You will like this....

After last year's overwhelming success, we are very pleased to announce the return of the South Coast Slam on February 5th & 6th 2011.
But this time there is a twist....This year we intend to bring together both classic video game groups and pinball groups to stage a weekend of classic gaming to rival similar events in the USA.
The support we have had so far is unbelievable from both sides of the classic gaming scene. This is shaping up to be an unmissable weekend. The Psych Out tent and tournament will be making a welcome return and work is going on to make it even more mind blowing than before. The Super Slam Showdown Tournament will also be returning with the winners of both tournaments battling to keep their titles. Video game competitions will be running all weekend, kids competitions, high score competitions and the return of the South Coast Slam Charity Raffle, where this year's top prize is a full size, top class pinball machine!Last year's surprise guest was none other than Gary Stern, President of Stern Pinball! Can we top that? You will have to wait and see.In addition there will be a selection of pinball and video games for sale or trade, and exclusive limited-edition South Coast Slam 2011 T-shirts are also available. See the contact page to enquire about getting one.All this for just £10 a day. Kids go free when accompanied by an adult and there are also discounted hotel room rates available for Slam attendees. Plus you can get free entry all weekend if you bring along a pinball machine or video game.
